Welcome to the Year of the Horse!

Lunar New Year falls on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, marking the beginning of the Year of the Fire Horse, with celebrations lasting for days, culminating in the Lantern Festival on March 3rd.

The Year of the Horse brings movement, momentum, and a strong push toward action. When combined with the Fire element, this year carries an especially dynamic, expressive, and outward-moving quality. Fire governs warmth, circulation, communication, and the Heart–mind connection. A Fire Horse year tends to accelerate life – emotionally, socially, and physically.

At its best, the Fire Horse supports enthusiasm, creativity, confidence, and forward motion. Many people feel inspired to make changes, take risks, or reconnect with joy and purpose. It is a year that favors visibility and expression – saying what needs to be said and moving toward what truly matters.

From a health perspective, however, strong Fire energy can also become excessive. When Fire is abundant but unregulated, it may manifest as anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, palpitations, irritability, inflammation, or burnout. The Heart and nervous system are particularly sensitive this year, especially for those already prone to stress, overwork, or emotional intensity.

Another common pattern during Fire Horse years is fluid depletion. Fire rises and expands; Water cools and anchors. Without adequate rest, hydration, and nourishment, people may feel “wired but tired,” emotionally reactive, or unable to fully settle. Digestive symptoms, heat sensations, headaches, and hormonal imbalance can also appear when Fire overwhelms the system.

The key to staying healthy this year is balance rather than restraint. Movement is helpful, but so is pacing. Expression is important, but so is listening inward. Supporting the Heart through adequate sleep, calming routines, gentle exercise, and regular acupuncture can help regulate Fire and prevent exhaustion.

The Fire Horse invites us to live fully – but wisely. When Fire is guided rather than forced, it becomes warmth, clarity, and vitality rather than stress. This year offers powerful energy for growth, provided we remember to stay grounded, hydrated, and well-rested as we move forward.
